Firearms Technical Assistance Project 2024 Overview
January 9, 2025
The OVW-funded Firearms Technical Assistance Project (FTAP) is grounded in supporting communities to better serve survivors by working to reduce firearms related domestic violence. As the technical assistance provider for the 12 pilot sites across the country—along with our partners Ujima and Esperanza United—we understand the critical importance of promoting safety for ALL, which is why we offer comprehensive training and technical assistance to support the use of firearms surrender strategies to increase safety.
The “Firearms Technical Assistance Project 2024 Overview” highlights key activities over the past year which fostered collaboration and shared strategies to strengthen local systems and enhance victim safety within the FTAP communities.
By centering survivor and community safety in our approach, we aim to create supportive environments where communities can make informed choices and survivors access the resources that they need. We are here to guide communities every step of the way, ensuring that safety is prioritized, and survivors can live in a secure and thriving community. Together, we’re building safer futures for all.
