Research

Research and data are important tools for understanding the full scope of firearm use in domestic violence and the impacts it has on victims and survivors. Effective policies and protocols are informed by research and data and evolve through ongoing data collection and analysis.

The National Resource Center on Domestic Violence and Firearms stays current and shares research that deepens our understanding of these complex issues. We aim to make this information accessible to practitioners, policymakers, and communities so that they can develop informed strategies to prevent and respond to the risk of firearms in domestic violence. By connecting research to practice, NRCDVF helps bridge the gap between knowledge and action, creating safer environments for all.
